CHRIS MAXTED (QTS/PGCERT/TEFL)

AVID EDUCATION is an initiative by Chris Maxted, a British-born teacher whose aim is to help students realise their full potential through quality tuition in English, maths and the Arts.

Formerly director of a creative publishing house and a schoolteacher in the UK, Chris has over 15 years of experience in the English and Asian education systems working with pupils of all ages and abilities in a range of contexts. He now concentrates solely on one-to-one tuition in Hong Kong, both face-to-face and online. 

His passions for literacy and the Arts are at the core of his teaching philosophy, which is based around helping students unlock their creativity and developing systematic self-management techniques to enhance independent skills and understanding in all areas of their studies. 

Aside from teaching, Chris is a painter and sculptor, and has spent a lot of time in Nepal training teachers in the foothills of the Himalayas. In his spare time he enjoys walking, eating and breathing.
